Some of you, in warmer climates, may think that life in Winter-peg is simply a season to hibernate along with the polar bears, but for those of us who are use to Manitoba winters it can turn into a time of fun. Bundle up and face the outdoors or cozy up in front of the fire and enjoy life inside. I quite enjoy the 4 distinct seasons that we experience in Manitoba. If you take a look at the pictures you will notice that it only takes a red hat to keep the smiles going.
January brought change to our office. Darrell Kehler began his position as Region #2 Coach & Missions facilitator. You will find him circulating in Central Manitoba in churches like Austin, Bagot, St. Laurent, Gospel Mennonite and Morrow Gospel in Winnipeg, Niverville Community Fellowship, and Gospel Fellowship in Steinbach. Tuesdays and Thursdays are considered his Conference Office days. Please join our staff in praying for Darrell & Elaine and their family as they adjust to Canada after an extended time in Bolivia as missionaries.
At present Allen & I are involved in organizing the up coming Pastors Retreat which is done in conjunction with our General Council on February 8 - 10 at Wilderness Edge Retreat Center in Pinawa. We have a wonderful committee to work with and I believe they have all done their part in putting together a meaningful program. Our Theme is “Following a Wild Messiah – Leading a Missional Church” with guest speaker Jim Cantelon. I have posted a few pictures of Wilderness Edge to help our registered guests have a preview of what is coming, and perhaps entice other EMMC Pastors and General Council Member who have not yet register to do so. We are very excited about all our guests coming for the Retreat from Belize, USA, and across Canada.
There are many other exciting things that are happening in the office or through the office and you may have questions of your own. I would invite you to e-mail, phone, or drop by the office for a cup of coffee and interact with the staff.
Winter in Winnipeg may be cold but our hospitality remains warm!
