Welcome to our on-line journal webpage!

In case you do not know us very well, let us introduce ourselves. While Eva was born in Belize, Central America, and lived there for 10 years, both of us have spent the greatest part of our lives in the Aylmer, Ontario (Canada) area, where Arlie grew up, and where our home church, the Aylmer Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church, is located. However, our studies and work have also taken us elsewhere in Ontario, including residing in Ottawa for the last 3 years or so that we were in Canada. Since October, 2002, we have made our home in Bolivia, South America. Joshua and Naomi have both been born here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, making us a truly multi-national family!

As mentioned above, we headed south in October, 2002, as newly-accepted "career missionaries" with EMMC. We have been called to serve in the areas of education and health with the Low German-speaking Mennonites east of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. As a teacher, Arlie's first task has been to help set up a school for Mennonite children whose families have left the colonies and are living in or near the town of Pailon ("pie-lone"), east of Santa Cruz. As a registered nurse, Eva has been helping these families with various health needs.
