Worship Openly

It’s Time …

It is time… to intimately worship God openly. To be passionate publicly. To be unashamedly devoted to God. To let our lives resound to the praise of His glory.

Romans 12:1: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” We have been called to offer our bodies as living sacrifices. In Scripture, a sacrifice is something offered to God. No matter what type of sacrifice was offered, it was important that the sacrifice be unblemished. God did not accept junk. The sacrifice had to be the best that could be offered, and the one offering the sacrifice had to be sincere.

Similarly, to offer ourselves as living sacrifices requires sincerity of heart. For our lives to be holy and acceptable worship to God, we cannot give our second best. We do not worship God by living hypocritically. God is not honored by a show of piety on Sunday when our hearts are far from Him. God is not glorified by ‘worshipers’ that are ashamed of Him.

So how do we offer ourselves as living sacrifices? We worship God intimately and openly; intimate worship must be authentic, and open worship cannot be hidden. Light that is hidden under a jar does not scatter the darkness. Salt with no saltiness is good for nothing. God is not worshiped by hidden light and flavourless salt.

It is time to be bold, time to be passionate, time to be public, time to be genuine. It is time to intimately worship God openly.
