A basic course of 18 lessons on the foundations of the Christian life and how to live the “Abundant Life” offered by the Lord.

A self-study course, which uses programmed instruction so that students can do the lessons alone at home.

Personal study is complemented and deepened by regular meetings with a trained Counsellor from the Church who uses the SEAN Manual to guide him in this work.

Ideal for discipling new believers or reinforcing basic teaching with more mature believers.

Life of Christ/Christus Sien Läwen – Low German

Life of Christ – Book 1 : $16

  • Gives an introduction to the political and geographical situation in Palestine in the first century, with reference to the Roman Empire, the Herods and the provinces under their jurisdiction.
  • Presents the life of Jesus in five steps: Childhood, Year of Preparation, Year of Popularity, Year of Passion, Resurrected Life and shows how to find these steps in Matthew.
  • Details the childhood of Jesus in Matthew and Luke.
  • Introduces the concept of the Kingdom of God and the doctrine of Christ as God and Man, making a comparison with the false doctrines of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Mormons.
  • Teaches how to use the three basic study techniques: observation, interpretation and application.
  • Introduces the main Old Testament characters with their dates, giving an introductory sketch of their history.
  • Begins the study of the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament.

Life of Christ – Book 2 : $16

  • Analyses the first year of the ministry of Jesus (Year of Preparation).
  • Emphasizes the preaching of John the Baptist, the repentance, and the spiritual fruit.
  • Explains the main characteristics of the Pharisees and Sadducees, the Sanhedrin, etc.
  • The baptism of Jesus introduces the doctrines of the Trinity and the attributes of God.
  • The temptation of Jesus is the basis for looking at the inspiration of the Bible and a reflection on materialism, pride, and violence in contemporary life.
  • Presentes the concepts of “synoptic” and “chronological” and uses the technique of comparison to unite Matthew with the rest of the “synoptics” and John.
  • Emphasizes the extensive use of prophecy in Matthew. Teaches about the creed, the confession of sin, and the use of symbols and examples in preaching.

Life of Christ – Book 3 : $16

  • Analyses the second year of the ministry of Jesus (Year of Popularity).
  • Describes Galilee and the expansion of the kingdom in that province.
  • Analyses: the statutes of the kingdom (the Sermon on the Mount), the proof of the kingdom (the miracles), enemies and examples of the kingdom (the parables).
  • Teaches about prayer and how to prepare sermons, make home visits, bring others to Christ and plan a new church.
  • Introduces the techniques of analysis and synthesis, giving the student ample opportunity to analyse in detail the Sermon on the Mount and prepare simple messages.
  • Shows how to use a concordance, Biblical dictionaries, commentaries, etc.
  • Shows how to compare related episodes in various Gospels and how to confront apparent contradictions in them.

Life of Christ – Book 4 : $16

  • Analyses the third year of the ministry of Jesus (Year of Passion).
  • Deals with the doctrine of man, sin, death, correct and false concepts about the human body (transfiguration) and the spirit (spiritism), including practical matters such as: human relations, sex, marriage, family, possessions and ambition.
  • Shows the basic principals of pastoral psychology; emphasises five common psychological adjustments and the Biblical teaching about each of them.
  • Deals with the authority in matters of faith (tradition, human reason and revelation).
  • Highlights the ministry in Judea and the three religious festivals (John) and the ministry in Perea (Luke).
  • Looks at the history of the division of the kingdom (Judah and Israel), the time of Nehemiah and the formation of the Samaritan people, the Assyrian and Babylonian empires, the period between the testaments and the Roman Emperors Augustus and Tiberius; introduces the student to the writing of Josephus.

Life of Christ – Book 5 : $16

  • Analyses and studies the events and teachings of the last week, day by day, including the Olivet Sermon and the eschatology and the Sermon in the Upper Room (John 13-17), the trials and the crucifixion.
  • Gives detailed teaching about the geography of Jerusalem and how it was during the Passover, with the function and history of the Temple.
  • Deals with Christ as prophet, priest and king, the significance of the Last Supper and the death of Christ. Continues with the doctrine of man taking into account justification (signified by the death of Christ), the total consecration of the human personality (intellect, emotions and will).
  • Introduces the use of the evaluation technique and setting out a scale of effective values and (on the practical side) accounting to the local congregation.
  • Finishes with a comparative analysis of the life of Jesus Christ in the four Gospels.

Life of Christ – Book 6 : $16

  • Covers Matthew 28 and the Acts of the Apostles.
  • Deals with the Resurrection and its proofs, the Ascension and Exaltation of the Lord, the Great Commission and how this was put into practice by the early church.
  • Considers the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, baptism and the ministry of the church.
  • Studies the early church in the book of Acts and the expansion during the three missionary journeys of Paul until the Gospel reaches Rome.
  • Gives suggestions for the application of the same rules to the church of the 21st Century.

Ephesians/Efeesa – Low German : $10 (Leaders Guide $5)

A self-study course of 30 practical and devotional lessons from the letter of Paul to the Ephesians. As with all SEAN courses, this is a home study course complemented by group meetings led by a Study Group Leader with the corresponding Manual. The aim of the course is to teach the student to see things from God’s point of view, to make profound changes in his life and daily conduct.

The course covers subjects which help to:
