Winnipeg, Mb – For the last number of years, Dylan and I were living and serving at Camp Cedarwood, a ministry of Youth for Christ Winnipeg located near Lac du Bonnet Manitoba. We moved back to Winnipeg in Fall 2022 where I am serving at Youth for Christ Winnipeg in a part-time capacity. I am stepping into an accounting clerk position, assisting the existing accounting clerk. This will be new territory for me, but I am excited to learn this role and develop a new set of skills. I am also looking forward to being back in the YFC office, connecting with old staff and friends and making new ones. Being back in the office allows me to connect with ministry staff and hear about how their programs and ministry are going, which I find encouraging and exciting. In my admin role, I am looking forward to getting glimpses of a variety of the ministries that YFC offers, praying for them and encouraging the staff. I also hope to keep connected with Camp Cedarwood, a ministry that we hold dear in our hearts, and hope that this role will continue to allow me to use my gifts with Cedarwood as time allows.
Stepping back into working at YFC has brought many unknowns. YFC Winnipeg has been experiencing various challenges as it continues to stay grounded as a biblically based ministry in a world of progressive beliefs and ideas. I am thankful for the leadership in place at YFC that continues to lead with integrity and truth, even though this is often the more difficult choice. I ask you to pray for continued strength for the leadership as they lead staff and engage in conversations. Please also pray for the ministry and administration staff, that they / we will stay grounded in scripture and the truth of Christ and the gospel.
We are still adjusting to the city and me being back at work. Please pray for the kiddos as they get used to having others care for them on the days that I am at work, and that as parents will still be able to engage with and spend quality time with them.
