The Barnabas Bursary is designated to sponsor training at Steinbach Bible College for people that churches have identified for present or future pastoral leadership. This is not intended for professional development for current pastors. Recipients will be mature students with the gifting to be a pastor and the calling of their congregation. Each conference will nominate one recipient each academic year.

The conference and SBC will each contribute 1/3 of tuition costs and invite the home congregation to do the same. After discussion with potential churches and pastors, the conference will nominate its recipient for that year.

Recipients need a clear sense of calling and purpose while studying. These students are committed to returning to their congregation to serve for 2 years after completing their course of studies at SBC. The funding will last until graduation or for five years, whichever comes first – for those taking a minimum of two courses per semester.
