This past month has been a meaningful and encouraging season for the SBC community as we celebrated another group of graduates being sent out to follow Jesus, serve the church, and engage the world. On April 24 and 25, Steinbach Bible College celebrated 30 graduates, including 21 graduates at our Commencement Ceremony and nine Certificate graduates recognized the day before for completing foundational theological training and preparation for continued ministry and service. Among this year’s graduates were four international students from Brazil, Jamaica, Nigeria, and Uganda, a reminder of the growing diversity and global reach of the SBC community. One of the greatest joys of this season has been hearing student faith stories. Over the final weeks of the school year, students reflected on who they were when they first arrived at SBC, what they have learned, and the ways God has shaped their character, calling, and faith during their time here. At graduation, we also heard parents celebrating those same developments in their sons and daughters. It was deeply encouraging. Karen Jolly, Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies at Providence University College and Theological Seminary, delivered this year’s Commencement Address, encouraging graduates to remain grounded in their faith and to lean into God’s faithfulness as they enter new seasons of ministry, work, and service. Mark Fortin shared the Valedictory Address, reflecting on the shared journey of the graduating class and encouraging his peers as they step into what comes next.

Now we are sending another group of graduates back to camps, into churches, workplaces, ministries, and communities around the world. This is a significant season in their lives, and we invite you to continue praying for them as they step into new relationships, careers, educational opportunities, and ministry roles over the months ahead. At the same time, SBC is entering an important season of transition as we prepare for the move into our new campus. We are expecting to move into the new office spaces this summer, while plans continue for a transitional semester in the fall as construction progresses on classrooms and residence spaces. We appreciate your prayers for our staff, faculty, and students as we navigate these exciting changes together. We also continue to trust God for the remaining fundraising needed to complete the project. With approximately $1.3 million left to raise toward our $15 million goal, we are grateful for the generosity and support of so many who believe in the mission of SBC and the importance of equipping servant leaders for the church and the world. Looking ahead, it is exciting to see new students already registering for next year. Every year we are reminded of the accelerated discipleship that happens within the SBC community as students learn together, serve together, and grow in their walk with Christ. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and partnership with SBC. We pray you experience the presence and joy of Christ throughout the summer months ahead.
