For more than a year, EMMC leadership has been in ongoing conversation with Pastor Washington Martin of the House of Prayer Church in London, Ontario, following his initial inquiry about joining the EMMC. Over this time, the two groups have met regularly—twice in person and several times by video conference—to build understanding and explore next steps.

At the March 2025 General Board and Council meetings, General Council authorized the Board to continue these discussions. In November 2025, additional direction was given to move forward carefully toward the possible acceptance of the House of Prayer Church as Associate Members of EMMC.

In mid-December, EMMC extended a formal invitation to the House of Prayer Church. The congregation accepted, confirming their desire to become Associate Members. A follow-up meeting in mid-January 2026 brought together John Dyck (EMMC Moderator), Abe Wiebe (EMMC Board Member), Henry Redekopp (EMMC Executive Director), Pastor Washington Martin, and House of Prayer Board Member Jean Elly to finalize next steps in the process.

We are pleased to announce that, effective March 1, 2026, the House of Prayer Church will officially join the Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference as an Associate Member. On March 8, 2026, the congregation will participate in the morning worship service at Aylmer EMMC (Ontario), where they will be formally welcomed into the EMMC family. A special reception is also planned for June 7, 2026, in conjunction with the EMMC General Council meetings in Aylmer, Ontario.

We invite the entire EMMC community to pray with us as we begin this new chapter together, anticipating with gratitude what the Lord will do in and through this relationship.
