Nomination for EMMC Moderator

The EMMC General Council unanimously approved John Dyck as the new Moderator for EMMC at the March 20 meeting in Spanish Lookout Belize. John will begin his responsibilities on July 1, 2025.

John is no stranger to General Board and General Council. He has been on General Council since June 2024 representing Deer Run Church, Leamington ON in Region 4. In the past he has served:

2011 – 2013 General Council

2013 – 2021 General Board; 1 year as Secretary, 7 years as Treasurer

Background

John was born in Mexico and moved to Canada at the age of 14. He is married to Tina, and together they have four sons, three of whom are married. They are proud grandparents to ten grandchildren.

John has dedicated over 20 years to volunteering as a hockey coach. He has also served Deer Run Church in Leamington, Ontario, as board chair for over 16 years and as a deacon for four years.

John enjoys meetings, especially when progress is being made. His goal has always been to leave the areas he serves better than he found them. His greatest sources of encouragement have been his wife and the leadership he has worked with.

John and Tina work together; she is a designer, and he is a renovation specialist. They love witnessing the transformation of their projects.

John is excited to serve the EMMC and to see how God is moving throughout the Americas.
