MEXICO – While ministry in Corupo has been rather slow these past months, we know that God is at work and that in His perfect time He will show us what our part is in what He is doing.

We are thankful for the opportunity to reconnect with friends and are asking for prayers that the people in our lives we are ministering to will be encouraged and will not be distracted in their walks with God. We are also asking for prayers for good health, as well as that God will prepare each of these peoples’ hearts to receive his Word.

Recently, we were able to go on a prayer “drive” with a young lady who was working alongside us and our coworkers for about a month. We went to eight communities in our area, stopping and praying for each one. Some communities have evangelical churches, but four of them had none at all, and possibly no believers. One specific community had a missionary couple doing Bible studies there many years ago but they had to leave due to concerns for the safety of the family with whom they were meeting. This community is known for unusual levels of violence and is very closed to the Gospel. However, the young lady was interested in returning to connect with the children in the community. Pray for safety, and that God will open these peoples’ hearts to His Word.

Other great developments are the progress that is being made by a pastor couple who are working diligently at providing an audio translation of the Bible to one community that used to be much more resistant to faith and to God but now have an active and thriving church! The same couple has also begun broadcasting God’s Word over the local radio! Praise God for that!

For a family update, we praise God for keeping us in reasonable health. Pete continues to work at the property as he has time, working alone now that Josiah is in Canada. The work is slow but with steady progress. Josiah left on April 9 to volunteer at Capernwray Harbour (B.C.) until the end of July. ChristyAnn recently returned to Canada and God has provided her with a place to live, a job and a vehicle.

We’ll be spending a short furlough in Saskatchewan and Manitoba from mid-July through the end of September, followed by a couple of weeks in Ontario into October. Although our time will be brief, we’re looking forward to reconnecting and hope to see many of you during our visit.
